The Witcher 3 Remastered Launches, Breaking Steam Concurrent Player Record Past 120,000

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launched today, pushing the 11-year-old open-world RPG past 120,000 concurrent players on Steam, a new record above its original launch peak of under 100,000. The free upgrade for existing owners includes visual improvements, gameplay tweaks, overhauled UI systems and a photo mode, with over 70 changes listed in the patch notes plus platform-specific updates for PS5 and Switch. Running the game at ultra settings on PC now requires a GeForce RTX 5080 and 24GB of RAM, and some AMD graphics card owners have reported issues due to missing driver support.
