Rockstar says its next game after GTA 6 won't take another eight years

Rockstar studio heads Phil Hooker and Aaron Garbut say the next game after Grand Theft Auto 6 won't take another eight years to make. They said the engine, tools and team built for GTA 6 will carry over to the next project, reducing development time. GTA 6 launches on November 19, the studio's first major single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018.
