Gears of War: E-Day review in progress: good shooting, but the campaign's a slog

PC Gamer published an in-progress review of Gears of War: E-Day, calling its shooting the best the series has felt while criticizing the campaign as overstretched and one-note, so no score is given yet. The game launches October 6, with advanced access from October 1 for the $100 Premium Edition, and will also be on Game Pass. The author said multiplayer was not available pre-launch and a final scored review will follow.
