Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve review: small innovations on the series formula

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve launched on October 2, 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the author finds it carries over the series' visuals, soundtrack, mission variety and upgrade tree. New wingman commands and explosions that damage nearby enemies add to combat, though the author finds the story more melodramatic than before and wants VR support to return.
