Activision QA testers vote to authorize strike as contract talks stall

Nearly 600 Activision QA testers, who unionized in March 2024, have voted to authorize a strike after more than two years without a first collective bargaining contract. The union accuses the company of not bargaining in good faith on wages, AI guardrails, and contractor use, while Activision says it has made progress and offered to meet again on October 21 and 22. The testers are working on Modern Warfare 4, which launches on October 16, and a strike could affect the game's live-service updates.
