Ex-PlayStation Veteran Shuhei Yoshida Says Sony Should Make The PS5 Generation Last As Long As Possible

Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida says Sony should try to keep the current console generation going as long as possible, arguing that neither players nor developers are asking for more power. In an interview with The Verge, he suggested Sony and Nintendo might delay next-gen launches because of rising costs, and that owners of PS5, Switch 2, or capable PCs are happy to keep using them. He also floated the idea of contract financing for hardware over $1,000, such as a $50-a-month subscription.
