GDCA 2027 Moves Away From Nominations-Based System, Opens Submissions to Publishers and Devs

The 2027 Game Developers Choice Awards will accept submissions from publishers and developers for the first time, replacing the previous nomination-based voting system run through ICAN. Games released on PC or console between January 1 and December 31, 2026 are eligible, with no entry fees and a submission deadline of November 1, 2026. Two new categories, Best Game Launch and Best Gaming Tech, have been added, and winners will be announced at the 2027 GDCA ceremony on Tuesday, March 2 at GDC Festival of Gaming.
