Ocarina of Time Producers Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi on the Remake and Zelda's 40th Anniversary

IGN interviewed producers Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake's release. Aonuma said one aim of the remake is to let younger developers first get familiar with the original and then reinterpret it. Fujibayashi said the team defined early what would and would not change, with changes including manual camera control, free jumping, fully renewed graphics and 5.1 surround background music. Aonuma said discussions began roughly after Tears of the Kingdom finished development, and recalled Miyamoto telling him a sword cannot really cut a wooden crate.
