Zach Cregger Says He Was 'Frustrated' That Resident Evil Talk 'Didn't Have Anything to Do With the Movie'

Filmmaker Zach Cregger said he was frustrated that much of the conversation around his Resident Evil film focused on how faithful it was to the games rather than on the movie itself, and that he will likely stray from adapting established IP in the future. Despite the backlash, the film released on September 18 and has crossed $400 million worldwide on a reported $75 million budget, with IGN giving it an 8/10.
