Three months after launch, Riot says League of Legends Classic will shut down in January

Riot announced that League of Legends Classic will go offline in January 2027, about six months after launch, saying most players have gone back to other parts of League. The current season will be the last, and Riot says it aims to bring the mode back later, likely as an event mode, with refunds for Classic content made obsolete by the closure. At least seven more champions are still planned, including Mordekaiser, Yorick, Hecarim and Lucian in the 26.21 update.
