RPGs Are Simply Better When You're an Idiot

In PC Gamer's Dungeon Master column, Fraser Brown argues that most RPGs sell a power fantasy, but failure and embarrassment make for better stories. He points to Baldur's Gate 3, Disco Elysium and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as games that embrace failure, saying RPGs should follow TTRPGs in letting players mess up and still get interesting consequences.
