Legend of Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma Knighted by French Ministry of Culture

Eiji Aonuma, longtime producer of The Legend of Zelda series, was knighted this week by the French Ministry of Culture as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Culture Minister Catherine Pégard praised him as "a storyteller who always leaves room for the player's imagination," and Aonuma delivered a statement in French urging fans to "continue this adventure together." The ministry had announced the knighthood back in 2023, with the ceremony held this past week.
