Gears of War: E-Day review: terrific shooting, sluggish campaign

PC Gamer reviewed Gears of War: E-Day, calling its third-person cover shooting the best the series has felt while finding the 20-plus-hour campaign one-note and overstretched. The prequel covers the day the Locust emerged, with Marcus and Dom written much as they were in the original. The multiplayer fares better, with the 4v4 modes and Horde Siege described as a worthwhile expansion of what Gears can be.
