Report: Sony surveying developers about dropping PlayStation disc support

Sony Interactive Entertainment is reportedly sending developers a survey that indirectly asks how they feel about ending physical game sales, according to the Moore's Law is Dead YouTube channel. Sony had announced it would end physical disc production starting in January 2028, citing a shift toward digital media, while Game File reports four-fifths of games bought on PS4 and PS5 last financial year were digital. Industry figures including Iam8bit, Lost in Cult and PM Studios' Michael Yum have criticized the decision.
