Flames of Revolution, Winter Snow Meeting Spring: A Cultural Reading of Arknights' "Time, Forward!"

The title of Arknights' new event "Time, Forward!" is a direct translation of the Russian phrase «Время, вперёд!», a melody that scored a Soviet novel, a film, and the opening of the news program Vremya. The piece uses that title to trace themes of power and revolution through the oprichnina, Repin's Ivan the Terrible and the Peredvizhniki painters, reading them into the Ursus storyline. Its three stage names—"残照终尽、长冬初青、世纪之春"—form a single timeline.
