Supermassive Games lays off more than 70 staff two months after announcing plans

Supermassive Games, the studio behind The Dark Pictures Anthology, has laid off more than 70 staff across development, art, production, QA and operations. The cuts were announced in August, when the company said they were needed to ensure its sustainability. It is the studio's second major round of layoffs, after more than 30 developers were cut in July 2025, which delayed Directive 8020.
