Zynga reportedly almost acquired Supercell for $400m in 2012, but deal fell through following failure of OMGPop

Brief

Zynga founder Mark Pincus said on the Deconstructor of Fun podcast that he and Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen agreed to an all-cash acquisition of Supercell for $400 million in 2012. The deal fell through after Zynga's board refused, saying it wanted him to prove he could manage what he already had, following the failure of the OMGPop acquisition. Pincus added that a year later Supercell made $500 million in net profit.
