Ninja Theory begins laying off staff, according to employee posts
Ninja Theory has begun laying off employees, according to posts from affected staff on LinkedIn. Xbox said on September 22 that it was proposing to close the studio and start a consultation process after two separate agreements to sell it fell through. IGN reports that gameplay programmer Katrin Mair, who spent four years at the studio, said she was sad not to finish what the team was working on, while technical director Loong-Wei Ding and performance capture specialist Xoe Suvari are also listed among those affected and technical sound designer Alessio Mellina is at risk of redundancy; the number of staff affected is unclear. Ninja Theory was working on Senua, the third Hellblade game announced at Xbox's June showcase.
