Playasia pulls its store offline after weeks of cyberattacks

Hong Kong-based online retailer Playasia temporarily shut down its store after weeks of attacks, CEO Jan Neuhäußer said the company will complete a full security audit and harden its systems. He described a coordinated, systemic campaign against thousands of digital-first companies rather than Playasia alone, and said the company reported the matter to authorities and cybercrime units worldwide. Playasia was founded in 2002 and is known for region-exclusive and Asian-English versions of games, toys and collectibles.
