How traditional book clubs inspired The Game Club to help gamers forge friendships as adults

Guy Blomberg and Shay Leighton founded The Game Club in 2025, a community network modeled on traditional book clubs where members play the same game each month and meet in small groups to discuss it. In its first year it connected over 1,000 gamers across six countries, and a member survey found 88% made new friends and 78% felt less lonely. November 2026's game of the month is Perfectly Paranormal's The Holy Gosh Darn.
