Zelda Chief Eiji Aonuma Says Some of the Younger Members of the Ocarina of Time Remake Team Had Never Played the Original Game — and That's a Good Thing
Brief
Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma said some younger members of the Ocarina of Time remake team had never played the original N64 game, and that this actually helped the remake's development. The original launched 28 years ago, and the remake arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Aonuma also said he is interested to see what younger staff will imagine for future Zelda titles.
