miHoYo's Li Yanran, AI lead for Star Valley, spoke at the 2026 Yunqi Conference's Alibaba Cloud AI gaming forum about the game's AI NPCs. All AI NPCs share one brain-inspired Agent architecture and a "super-intelligence memory system" that lets characters share memories and retain them across platforms, while a "multi-teacher online distillation" technique puts different personas into a single model. Li also said miHoYo is trying to enable self-evolving Agents in the game so players and NPCs can grow together.
