GTA 6 Leaks Continue as Rockstar Calls 2022 Hack 'Weirdly Invasive'

Rockstar developers told Bloomberg that the 2022 GTA 6 leaks felt like 'somebody's wading through your dirty washing,' with Rockstar North's Aaron Garbut calling it 'really weirdly invasive.' On the same day, leaker CyberLeek posted another gameplay leak and said it could be the last. The hack also led Rockstar to require developers to work from the office, and publishing boss Jennifer Kolbe said the policy will be reviewed after GTA 6 releases but she doesn't expect major changes.

Report: Epic Games pivots to AI-first development as Disney shooter is delayed indefinitely

Bloomberg reports that Epic Games is moving to an AI-first development model for its collaboration with Disney, with AI models writing all code and guiding all artwork while human developers manage the generated assets. The $1.5 billion partnership announced in early 2024 had planned a Marvel- and Star Wars-themed shooter for March 2027, but the project is now delayed indefinitely. Epic said it is embracing AI-accelerated development, and CEO Tim Sweeney said the aim is to let teams build more and better content for everyone using Unreal.

Why this: Epic's Disney shooter shifting to AI-led development and being delayed indefinitely offers a look at how a major studio's pipeline and schedule are changing.

Report: Epic Games orders staff to adopt AI-first development on an unannounced title

Bloomberg reports that Epic Games has told developers to adopt AI-first development on an unannounced shooter made with Disney, with no more handwritten code and all art generated through full AI workflows using tools such as Anthropic's Claude, while humans manage and guide the work. The title is said to feature Marvel and Star Wars characters and to have progressed slower than expected, partly because Epic underestimated the staff needed, and the internal message reportedly surprised some developers last week. An Epic spokesperson said the company is embracing AI-accelerated development, and CEO Tim Sweeney said Epic has a huge pivot underway to retool developers for maximum AI acceleration, aiming to build more and better content rather than do the same work with fewer people.

GTA 6 PEGI rating pulled after listing sex scenes and drug use

Europe's PEGI ratings board published an 18 rating and detailed content description for GTA 6 on Friday before quickly pulling it from its website. The pulled listing said the game includes bloody violence with a high degree of realism, detailed decapitation and dismemberment, frequent drug use that players can take directly from their inventory, and sexual content including nudity and intercourse scenes. It follows GTA 6's ESRB M for Mature rating, with the game due to release on November 19.
