The Quake community released a free fan map pack called Quake Rooftops Jam on Friday, adding 19 custom maps themed around rooftops to id Software's 1996 shooter. It can be downloaded from Slipseer and requires a Quake sourceport such as Ironwail or vkQuake. Rooftops are rarely seen in Quake's corridor-shooter design, making them an unusual challenge for mappers.

Radiangames has announced Miniopolis, a minimal city builder where players drag a selection box and extrude or subtract blocks of various types, with buildings and city mesh generated by custom procedural generation. Jagex announced RuneScape Reignited, a new permanent character type, launching on 2 December. Reignited characters come with a brand-new economy and hiscores with no paid progression, play in the same worlds as existing characters, and get free access to members' content for the first 10 days after launch. Jagex said Reignited, The Adventure Guide, and the next step for Remastering RuneScape will all arrive in a single update on 2 December.
Jagex has officially unveiled a multi-year roadmap for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, covering the rest of 2026 and plans throughout 2027. The next free update, "Luminance," arrives this winter as a prelude to the Blood Crystal Saga in 2027 and adds the "Prayer" skill. The saga begins with Song of Rebellion, followed later in the year by Crown of the Night, alongside quest, QoL, and additional skill updates.
Jagex announced a new RuneScape MMO with the working title RuneScape 4 at its annual RuneFest event, alongside a brief teaser trailer showing the art style. According to MMORPG.com, RuneScape 4 began as a planned expansion for the survival game Dragonwilds before growing into a full new game. It is being built on Unreal Engine, and the original expansion version had targeted a 2027 release, which the larger scope has likely pushed back.
