Capcom's remake machine keeps ticking, and that means revisiting Resident Evil 5 and 6

During Resident Evil's 30th anniversary, executive producer Jun Takeuchi said the series runs on two tracks: numbered titles for the ongoing story and remakes for the past, with the remake line eventually catching up to the numbered era. Capcom has been preparing for that crossover since around Resident Evil Village, and at its current pace of one remake every two years, remaking the older games could buy the studio about 12 years.
