EA is shutting down BioWare and cancelling the next Mass Effect

EA announced it is closing BioWare, the studio behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and cancelling the next Mass Effect game, which was said to be early in development. The move is part of around 400 job cuts at EA, including roughly 50 at BioWare, and the Edmonton workspace is also closing. Sports games, Apex Legends, the third Star Wars Jedi game, the Iron Man title and Battlefield will continue, while a new The Sims instalment has been cancelled and the Skate team downsized.
