John Romero confirms his axed Xbox shooter has a new publisher and some staff have been rehired

Speaking to VGC at Gamescom Asia, John Romero confirmed that his unannounced shooter, dropped by Xbox, has signed a new publisher, though he did not name it or give an announcement timing. He said the team went from 110 people down to five and then brought 10 sub-team leads back, leaving it at around 15 to 16 staff. The original 110-person project cannot be finished at that size, so the studio is making a redesigned game that reuses its characters, art and code, and Romero said the new publisher has no creative goals for it.
