ICEY 2 crowdfunding passes 30 million yuan as producer says he will never crowdfund again

ICEY 2, the sequel to the Chinese indie game ICEY, opened crowdfunding on October 1 with an initial goal of 10,000 yuan, passing 5 million on day one and 20 million within three days, and now exceeding 30 million yuan from over 200,000 backers. Producer Lao Ma (Xiao Zhuohong) knelt during a livestream to ask players not to idolize him and said he would never crowdfund again. The game is expected to launch on May 1 next year at 48 yuan, made by a six-person team, with the funds going toward CG, music, META content and physical merchandise.
