Jagex pulls RuneScape 3 Dragon Slayer 2 trailer over suspected generative AI use
RuneScape creator Jagex in hot water over generative AI use in recent trailer
Brief
Jagex took down the Dragon Slayer 2 quest trailer shown at RuneFest after players spotted oddities such as a six-fingered hand and fantasy Air Jordans. The studio said the trailer was made by a trusted external partner that had confirmed generative AI would not be used, apologised, and said it is overhauling its review processes and will work with community creators on Dragon Slayer 2. Days earlier, Jagex staff had reaffirmed the company does not use generative AI in its games, artwork or marketing.
