GOG taken offline for maintenance amid PHP security emergency

GOG announced at 8 am Pacific that its site and GOG Galaxy launcher would be offline for "a couple of hours" for maintenance. The company did not state a cause, but the outage follows critical vulnerabilities in the PHP scripting language that prompted major websites and services to go offline as a precaution. Finland's government sites and Final Fantasy 14 login servers were also reported down.
