PS5 to Integrate Anime into Main Menu as Sony Tightens Ties with Crunchyroll

PlayStation boss Hideaki Nishino confirmed at the inaugural Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum that PS5 will integrate anime into its main menu with a dedicated hub, beginning Spring 2027. PS5 owners can already access Crunchyroll via the console's dedicated app, but the new initiative will place the streaming service front and centre. Sony acquired the subscription-based platform for $1.1 billion in 2021.
