Mass Effect TV Series Remains Active at Prime Video Despite BioWare Closure

IGN has exclusively learned that the Mass Effect TV series remains in development at Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, even after BioWare's closure, and all creatives attached to the project are still onboard. As of August 2025, Doug Jung was showrunner and Daniel Casey was writing the series, which is set after the original trilogy rather than retelling Commander Shepard's origin story. The show had at one point eyed a Q4 2026 production start but still has no release date.
