Blizzard Reveals Update Cadence Plan for World of Warcraft Forever

World of Warcraft Forever principal game designer Kris Zierhut said the game will target an update roughly every four months, or three times a year, slower than Midnight's eight-week cycle. He said the team tried a faster pace in 2023's Season of Discovery but found it too fast, while six to eight months without new content also feels bad. Some content will unlock between patches, and Blizzard's BlizzCon roadmap puts the first major update in spring 2027.
