Life is Strange studio Don't Nod opens safeguard proceedings as up to 85 jobs are at risk
The studio behind Life is Strange, Jusant, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is desperately struggling to stay afloat
Don't Nod, the developer of the first two Life is Strange games, has opened safeguard proceedings in France to buy time to address its finances. The studio said its current cash position cannot cover the financing needs of its operations and projects, and the procedure provides a 6 to 18 month observation period during which creditor enforcement is suspended. Don't Nod has said its restructuring plan includes refocusing French operations around a single production line, with up to 85 jobs at risk, and that sales of its latest release Aphelion came in below expectations.
It lays out the timeline of Don't Nod entering safeguard proceedings and explains the observation period and layoff scale the process allows.
