World of Warcraft: Forever Isn't Out Yet, but Its Beta Is Already Dealing With a Gold-Buying Scandal

Players in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta are paying real money for in-game gold, and Blizzard says it is taking action now and will continue to do so after launch, increasingly targeting buyers' accounts. Streamer Ziqoftw admitted receiving around 520 gold from viewers, and the gold on the character that received it was almost entirely wiped down to a few silver while his other characters were left intact. Community members are calling for harsher punishment of gold sellers, buyers, and streamers who benefit from such transactions.
