Nintendo Was Reportedly Unhappy With Elon Musk's Saturday Night Live Wario Sketch

Two former Nintendo PR managers, Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang, said on their YouTube show that Elon Musk's 2021 Saturday Night Live sketch playing Wario "did not go well" with Nintendo and was "not beloved." The sketch put Wario on trial for murdering Mario and included jokes about Mario using cocaine and Luigi sleeping with Princess Peach, and it aired when there was no new Wario game or product. The two brought it up after a recent SNL sketch in which The Legend of Zelda's Link and GTA 6's Jason Duvall debated.
