Matthew Belloni: Netflix Sought Exclusive Film and TV Rights for Xbox IP Before Talks Fell Through

Netflix's former chief content officer Bela Bajaria offered Xbox $500 million over seven years for exclusive film and TV adaptation rights to its IP. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and her team countered at $800 million over the same period, but before any deal was reached, Bajaria left the company as Netflix announced 1,000 layoffs. According to Matthew Belloni, the deal is now entirely off the table with Bajaria gone.
