Valve Adds CD-ROM Support to Steam Frame Kernel Less Than Ten Minutes After Saying It Would Look Into It

Valve developer gaberow committed CD-ROM support to the Steam Frame kernel less than ten minutes after responding to a user's request for detachable disc drive compatibility. The user wanted to watch movies on the road and install old games like Need for Speed Carbon, which is no longer sold digitally. Kernel-level support does not guarantee the feature will officially ship on all Steam Frame units, as Valve could choose to implement it in a future update.
