Nintendo's Latin America VP says there are no plans to ditch physical games

Nintendo Latin America VP Bill van Zyll said the company has no plans to ditch physical games, stressing that its approach to physical and digital releases is guided by consumer preference. He noted the Switch 2, which launched in June 2025, supports both digital and physical formats. The comments follow Sony's announcement that it will end production of physical discs for all new PlayStation games from January 2028.
