Legendary composer Frank Klepacki says the RTS genre isn't dead, but he'd like to see devs get more creative with it

Frank Klepacki said in the latest issue of Edge that the RTS genre isn't dead, arguing that other types of games have simply taken the forefront of attention and that everything runs in cycles. He also pointed to a hollowing-out of the industry and growing risk aversion among big-budget developers, saying he'd love to see more unique ideas allowed to be triple-A titles. He noted that Blizzard dropped a new campaign for Warcraft 3 in September, and that a Game of Thrones RTS is in the pipe.
