Report: Xbox Game Pass Getting Major Overhaul With À La Carte Options

Fortune, citing people familiar with the strategy, reported that Microsoft plans a major overhaul of Xbox Game Pass that would let players choose features à la carte, including add-ons for console-only games, cloud gaming and multiplayer, under a tiered structure. The report said Game Pass cannibalized sales of Microsoft's higher-priced first-party titles and that competing internal metrics worsened the problem. It also addressed a next-gen Xbox handheld and the Project Helix console, suggesting the latter may not be cheap.
