Evil Geniuses to cease operations on November 2

Evil Geniuses CEO Chris DeAppolonio announced the organization has begun winding down and will close on November 2, citing limited sponsorship and rising costs at the top level. EG's Counter-Strike history dates back to CS 1.6, and after PEAK6 acquired the brand it signed the NRG roster, winning ESL New York 2019 and StarSeries Season 8 and reaching No. 1 on the HLTV ranking in September 2020. Results declined afterward, the 15-man Blueprint roster launched in 2022 did not turn things around, and the team left Counter-Strike again in January 2024.
