Nintendo Explains Why It Remade The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Again

Nintendo explained in an Ask the Developer Q&A why it is remaking The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again, with series producer Eiji Aonuma citing the franchise's 40th anniversary as one key factor. He said many team members have only worked on recent entries and that rebuilding the original could help them understand its structure and carry those insights into future games. The Switch 2 remake launches November 5 and is the second remake after the 2011 Nintendo 3DS version.
