    Triple-I Initiative October 2026: Everything Announced at the Showcase

    The Triple-I Initiative held its second showcase of 2026, a nearly hour-long livestream of curated trailers and game updates. Aftergods got a debut trailer and is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5; Waltz and Jam launches December 3 on PC, Switch 2, and PS5; Among Us Story: On Guard arrives February 17, 2027 on PC, Switch consoles, and mobile. Astral Ascent's free Expedition 33 For Those Who Come After update is out now on PC and console with new summons, bosses, and Esquie, and most of the games shown have demos live on Steam.

    Arc Raiders' Major Update Lifts Steam Sales and Player Count to Months-Long Highs

    After Arc Raiders launched its major Frozen Trail update, it ranked fifth on Steam's best-sellers list and hit 106,000 concurrent players, the first time above 100,000 since May. Its new cosmetic DLC, the Frozen Trail Collector's Set, sits at No. 8 on the best-sellers list. The update is the first under Embark's shift to a semi-annual cadence, and the game will be free-to-play this weekend on all available platforms.

    Strange Scaffold Saved This New Tactics Game From Cancellation

    Gods With Badges, a narrative-driven tactics game revealed at the Triple-i Initiative showcase, was originally a canceled project called Hard Justice from Devolver Digital-owned studio Artificer before being saved by Strange Scaffold. The El Paso, Elsewhere developer rebuilt the existing work through its Project Share initiative, which encourages studios to share original code. The game follows disgraced police officer Harrow McClellan in the dystopian city of Scarhelm and is set to launch on PC in 2027.

    Moonlight Kids' Echo Weaver launches on Xbox and PC, day one with Game Pass

    Echo Weaver, developed by Moonlight Kids, launches today on Xbox Series X|S and PC and is available day one with Game Pass at $19.99. The team calls it a Metroidbrainia, where each loop in the space colony Provenance lasts only minutes and progress comes from knowledge rather than gear. Publisher Akupara Games called it the best demo it has played, while the team said the knowledge-based time loop made development roughly five times the work of other genres.

    Best Buy plans a midnight launch for the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2

    Best Buy announced a midnight launch event for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2, and people who already preordered can switch to in-store pickup at midnight on November 5. Those without a preorder can also buy the game at the store, where the 40th-anniversary Zelda Switch 2 system and Switch 2 Pro Controller will be available in limited quantities.     Girls und Panzer: All-Star Tank Carnival announced for Switch 2

    D3 Publisher announced Girls und Panzer: All-Star Tank Carnival, a tank battle action game from the team behind Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match, due out in 2027 in Japan for Switch 2. It supports online real-time tank battles with up to 10 players, and lets players explore Oarai in a Panzer IV and talk to characters to trigger original story quests. An announcement trailer was also released.

    Developer Innersloth announced that Among Us Story: On Guard, a new standalone adventure set in the Among Us universe, will launch on February 17, 2027 for Switch 2, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. Players take the role of Guard, handling shipwide security and identifying the Impostor in a simulation with three unique endings. The Steam page says players complete tasks and gather clues while proving their innocence.

    Outward 2 launches in Early Access on PC on February 8, 2027

    Fast-paced roguelike action game Volatiles announced for PC

    Publisher 11 bit studios and developer Team Instant Defeat have announced Volatiles, a fast-paced top-down roguelike action game coming to PC via Steam. A release date was not announced. Each run starts with a single tile and expands as players fight alien hordes, gather experience, and level up, with new tiles offering weapons, upgrades, healing, tools, defenses, and risky synergies.

    Publisher Curve Games and developer Dream Reality Interactive have announced Lazare's Sacrifice, a narrative deckbuilder retelling the French Revolution, launching for PC via Steam in 2027. Players take on the role of condemned General Lazare Hoche, dueling historical figures in psychological card battles within Carmes Prison. It is crafted in collaboration with Damien Monnier, creator of the original Gwent, and features a Story Mode and a Tower Mode.

    Pimax has announced the Crystal Pro, a fully wireless VR headset priced at $1,399, or $1,899 with the optional 60G AirLink wireless streaming kit, which costs $599 on its own. The headset uses twin QLEDs at 2880 x 2880 per eye and up to 120 Hz, and supports Native Foveated Streaming alongside SLAM 2.0 inside-out tracking and new ringless controllers. Pimax also revealed the Pimax Spation gaming PC, which resembles a long Steam Machine, and none of the products have on-sale dates yet.

    Pimax has announced the Spation, a mini PC that supports both SteamOS and Windows and can be configured with either an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 Ti GPU alongside a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It packs 32 GB of DDR5, a 1 TB SSD, a 1000 W SFX PSU, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and multiple DisplayPort, HDMI, USB4, and USB ports. Pimax has not yet announced a price or launch date, and plans a barebones kit that requires users to install their own GPU, storage, and memory.
