Modern Warfare 4 brings back DMZ with the new Hajin map and deeper progression

Infinity Ward is bringing DMZ back in Modern Warfare 4, and an Activision blog details the changes to the extraction mode. Players drop into the new open-world Hajin map to loot, complete objectives, and fight NPCs and rival operators, keeping rewards on a successful extraction but losing gear and operators on death, with operators recoverable for a price. Every deployment feeds a DMZ player level from 1 to 70, and missions include story-based DMZ Orders, dynamic and side operations, and Lieutenant Hunts. Unlike Modern Warfare 2's free-to-play DMZ beta tied to Warzone, this mode ships with Modern Warfare 4 and is not free-to-play.
