Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake's 24-Hour NPC Routines Were a Lot of Work, Producer Says

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 gives Hyrule Castle Town a full day-night cycle, so every NPC now has a 24-hour routine. Producer Hidemaro Fujibayashi told GameSpot he reviewed every single NPC text and knew the director's request would mean a lot of work, but he didn't want to discourage younger staff. The remake is earning stellar reviews, including a 9/10 from GameSpot, and is currently the top-rated game of 2026 on Metacritic.
