Ex-Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan Says He Never Wanted the Spotlight, But the Game Needed a Face

Former Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan said he is not someone who likes attention, and that putting himself out there at Blizzard was to serve his game and team. He said stepping away from being tied to Overwatch after leaving Blizzard in 2021 turned out to be "pretty great" on a personal level. He is now working on The Legend of California at his new studio, Kintsugiyama.
