Jagex cancels RuneScape Reignited less than two weeks after announcing it

Jagex creative director Mod Ryan announced on October 15 via an official YouTube video and blog post that RuneScape Reignited, a new game mode revealed less than two weeks earlier, has been canceled in response to player feedback. The mode was unveiled on October 3 at RuneFest 2026 and would have let new and returning players start fresh, but some players said it would fracture the community. Jagex also announced a 10-day free trial from December 2 to December 12, the Adventure Guide and the first part of the Remastered Journey, with Plugins still set for October 19.
