Valve Knows Steam Next Fest Has an AI Slop Problem, And It's Looking For Solutions

Valve addressed criticism of Steam Next Fest at the Steam Indie Connect developer event, acknowledging both the flood of AI slop and the sheer number of demos. Marc Wilkinson of Valve's Steam Business Team explained that Next Fest shows a completely random lineup for the first two days before personalized recommendations kick in, a trade-off meant to give all developers equal exposure and prevent system abuse. Valve said it is fully aware of the situation and that a significant number of people are thinking about how to solve it.
