Grand Theft Auto 6 may be the first GTA to have full-on "sex scenes", Hot Coffee not included

An age-rating description for GTA 6 on the PlayStation Store in New Zealand and Australia mentions "sex scenes", which if accurate would make it the first Grand Theft Auto game to directly depict sexual intercourse. The descriptions, spotted by IGN, are not separately searchable on the relevant ratings boards' websites, and the UK PS Store listing mentions "sexual content" with a PEGI "sex" symbol. Grand Theft Auto 6 releases 19th November.

Gears of War: E-Day Sets Steam Series Record and Earns Xbox Series S Praise in First 24 Hours

About 24 hours after Gears of War: E-Day opened to Premium Upgrade, Premium Edition and Collector's Edition owners, it peaked at 20,374 concurrent players on Steam, beating Gears 5's record of 10,196. Digital Foundry reported that Xbox and The Coalition developed a technique using the SSD as a new tier of memory to supplement the 10GB of GDDR6 on Series S, so that version does not get a stripped-back world. The full release is set for October 6.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation director on the final Sephiroth fight and whether the trilogy model can be repeated

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi said the game's final Sephiroth battle, launching April 8, will be an all-out fight far surpassing those in Remake and Rebirth, with nods to the original's ultimate limit break. He said it is hard to tell whether the trilogy could become a template for others, since it required the same team and leader to stay stable for over 10 years. He also said Revelation keeps the same pacing approach as Rebirth, side content won't undercut the urgency of the approaching Meteor, and Yuffie, Vincent and Zack get more playable depth than before.

The Street Fighter Movie's Most Obscure Easter Egg Is for True Fighting Game Nerds

In the Street Fighter movie, fighting game legend Justin Wong's prisoner cameo hides a "37" tattoo on his neck, a nod to Evo Moment 37. That 2004 moment saw Wong, playing a low-health Chun-Li, parry over a dozen of Daigo Umehara's Ken attacks before countering. The film also leans into Capcom's game look with its costumes, special attacks, and a new version of Guile's theme by composers Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer review: Burnout handling meets a roguelite campaign

Eurogamer's review calls Star Wars: Galactic Racer both a surprisingly fun roguelite campaign and a racing treat for Criterion fans. Developed by Fuse Games, it uses two boosts, Afterburner and the faster Ramjet, which can redline and explode if held too long. The campaign runs across acts and planets on an FTL-style branching map, where winnings upgrade your craft but a lost final race costs those upgrades. Planets change Ramjet behaviour, such as icy worlds making it last longer. A review copy was provided by Secret Mode.

Report claims Activision is considering rebooting Halo, with a Sledgehammer Games team leading

Halo and Xbox insider Rebs Gaming claims Activision is considering rebooting the Halo series after taking over the next game, possibly exploring Master Chief's origins. The report says Activision first proposed a free-to-play multiplayer game and a campaign-only game, with the campaign prototype described as a soft reboot that ignores Halo Infinite's story without retconning established canon, before leaning toward one combined package. Rebs also says Sledgehammer Games teams have conceptualised and prototyped basic gameplay mechanics for both projects in the Infinity Ward Engine, while Activision has only confirmed it will develop the next Halo title.

    Star Wars: Galactic Racer Review

IGN reviews Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Fuse Games' racing game that it calls the first of its kind in over two decades, built around a roguelite campaign with no mid-race restarts. Vehicles span landspeeders, speeder bikes, and a new skim speeder class, and each speeder is scrapped between tours so upgrades must be re-earned. The review praises the detailed planets and Burnout-style takedowns but says the small number of planets makes repeated runs feel tedious.

Original Xbox Version of Halo: Combat Evolved Made Available to Play in a Browser

AI developer Mitchell Hynes has released the original Xbox version of Halo: Combat Evolved to play for free in a web browser, and it is not Gearbox's 2003 PC port. Five hours after release it saw nearly 20,000 games at an average of 94 frames per second. Hynes said his website's "Suspected Phishing" flag came from an automatic Cloudflare flag rather than Microsoft, and the ban was soon lifted.

Micron warns memory shortages will worsen in 2027 as CEO cites much higher prices

On its FY 2026 earnings call, Micron said memory demand will exceed supply in 2027 and 2028, with industry tightness greater than in 2026 and no line of sight to when supply and demand will rebalance. The company said it has already sold most of the memory it expects to produce next year at much higher prices than in 2026, and that new factories coming online in 2028 will not immediately improve availability or lower prices. Rising memory and storage costs have pushed Microsoft, Apple, Valve, Sony and Nintendo to raise hardware prices, while Micron and two other major RAM makers face a class action alleging they fixed supply and prices.

Star Wars Galactic Racer Review: A Silly Racing Roguelite That Became a Favorite

Star Wars Galactic Racer is a silly racing roguelite starring Shade, a former racer turned cargo pilot who returns to the sport for revenge against the arrogant champion Kestar Bool. Rather than moral drama, it leans into absurd, near-indestructible racing through lava, canyons, and acid valleys, which makes it feel true to Star Wars racing. It has become one of this year's favorite games.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer: The Kotaku Review

Kotaku's review finds Star Wars: Galactic Racer expands the prequels' podracing into an arcade racer that runs smoothly at high speed, with distinct vehicle handling and a roguelike season campaign starring Shade against champion Kestar Bool. The reviewer spent 19 hours finishing the campaign, calling the on-foot segments lackluster and noting most podracing content sits in arcade events and multiplayer; the game launches October 6 on PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo launches today, full release set for October 15

Konami released a demo for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse today on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, XBOX Series X|S, and Steam, letting players try early content before the October 15, 2026 launch and carry progress into the full game. Physical and digital preorders are open, with Midnight Editions including alternate outfits, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery, and an in-game relic item, plus an Alucard-style outfit for early buyers.

Why this: Konami has launched a demo for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse and set its release date, with progress carrying over, so readers can plan a try and a preorder.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Review – Very Fast, Very Dangerous, And Very Good

Game Informer's review calls Star Wars: Galactic Racer, developed by Fuse Games, an excellent racing roguelite whose campaign follows a run to join the Galactic League and beat champion Kestar Bool across multiple planets, with too many losses dropping you from the tournament. It notes the lack of a minimap and a steep early learning curve, and says being forced to use podracers in certain campaign events, where a loss can end a run, stayed frustrating. After about 20 hours the author kept playing Arcade, Scenario, and multiplayer, which offers six-race tournaments, pre-race bets, XP leveling, and cosmetic unlocks.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer (PS5) Review: Vehicle Builds and a Roguelite Campaign Drive the Speed

Push Square's review calls Star Wars: Galactic Racer a blend of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, WipEout HD, and Burnout 3: Takedown, and the debut title from UK studio Fuse Games, founded by Criterion veterans. It offers landspeeders, speeder bikes, and skim speeders with over 300 equippable parts, plus a roguelite campaign that upgrades base stats over time. Planets like Sentinel I and Jakku pose different challenges, while DualSense trigger resistance, a start-line minigame, and a Gears of War-style active reload shape the feel of each race.

Star Wars Galactic Racer review: Burnout-style arcade racing returns

VGC's review calls Star Wars: Galactic Racer one of the best arcade racers in years, set after the fall of the Empire and following a mysterious racer named Shade seeking revenge on racing star Kestar Boole. Its campaign is run-based, with each session granting a league entry token that is lost if the race objective is failed, forcing the whole series to restart, while rewards upgrade the ship. Takedowns and the classic Burnout camera show its lineage, and the three vehicle types plus harder pod racing round out the package.

Gears of War: E-Day is missing chainsaw duels and meat shields, but The Coalition says they're "not gone from the franchise"

Gears of War: E-Day opened to early access players yesterday for those who bought the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade Edition, or Collector's Edition, and some players noted missing legacy features such as chainsaw duels, meat shields, select past weapons, private lobbies, and leaderboards. In a statement timed with the launch, The Coalition said those features may arrive post-launch or in its next title, explaining that it rebuilt the gameplay sandbox from scratch for a more unified experience across campaign, PvE, and PvP. The first season runs eight weeks from the early access release to 1st December, ranked PvP arrives on 13th October, and the game's general release is 6th October.

Riot exec says 2XKO needed hundreds of thousands to millions of MAU to sustain itself

Riot Games CPO Marc Merrill said 2XKO would have needed a monthly active user base "in the high hundreds of thousands, if not millions" to support its live-service model, and its actual audience was "not nearly enough." 2XKO ended active development in August because it cost substantially more to operate than it brought in and engagement stayed flat despite larger updates; it remains free to play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with servers online "beyond 2026." Merrill also cited Street Fighter 6's release as a factor and said leadership changes led to a lack of alignment on strategy and managerial fracturing.

Sony announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), an AI image upscaling technology for PS5, and it is already available in Marvel's Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei. Sony describes QSSR as a lesser version of the PSSR found on PS5 Pro, offering improved image detail and stability, and says it will later be offered broadly to all PlayStation developers. Digital Foundry found the quality boost especially notable in Marvel's Wolverine, though it said a big divide remains between QSSR on standard PS5 and PSSR on the Pro.
